Employee Spotlight: Get to know Jack Sills!

Renaissance Rentals is staffed by a diverse team of local professionals. In our employee spotlight blog series, we'll be highlighting the talented individuals that help to make our company Bloomington's most trusted local landlord!

Jack Sills manages our Covenanter Hill community, but has previously worked at Verona Park and HighGrove. To help you learn more about Jack, I've asked him some "getting to know you" questions.

1.) What is your favorite local restaurant?

"My favorite local restaurant is Farm Bloomington because it uses only the best local ingredients and has a seasonally changing menu! I worked in the kitchen there for some time and I learned more about food and cooking from chef Daniel Orr than I could ever have asked for."

2.) What is one item that you couldn’t live without?

"I could not live without my cast iron skillet! I have had it for 3 years now and it works as well now, if not better, than ever before. It is sturdy and well seasoned, which makes for a great cooking experience every time."

3.) Everyone's got a guilty pleasure. What's yours?

"My guilty pleasure is definitely potato chips. Although I do not discriminate - I love all types of chips!"

4.) Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!

"I have a cockapoo named Tucker. His favorite things to do are chasing frisbees and begging for food."

5.) What is your favorite sport and do you have a favorite sports team?

"Being a Bloomington native for most of my life, Indiana Hoosier sports have always been front and center. Growing up I watched a lot of men's soccer. However, since attending IU, I have found a love for the basketball team."

6.) What is your favorite part about working at Renaissance Rentals?

"My favorite part about being a part of this team is the friendly faces I work with every day. Everyone is always so happy to help the community and to work together with other properties to make for the best customer service in making sure you feel at home in your home."

7.) If you could travel to any part of the world, where would you go?

"I love traveling and an African safari is at the top of my list of trips I'd like to take! The animals roaming the land, untouched by man would be so cool to see first hand."

8.) How long have you lived in the Bloomington area and what do you like most about it?

"I have lived in Bloomington since 2000. I grew up across the street from MeadowCreek, went to Bloomington High School South, then graduated from IU in summer 2019. I love how Bloomington is so progressive and inclusive of all people while also not feeling like a huge city. I think Bloomington has something for everyone and if you are anything like me you will find it hard to leave!"
