Renaissance Rentals enters downtown apartment market with Scholar's Rooftop

[flagallery gid=1]

Good things in life are worth waiting for, right?  We hoped to have Scholar's Rooftop ready for the August 2013 move-in rush, but that just wasn't in the cards.  Instead of cutting corners to finish quicker, we methodically crafted this downtown apartment building and we're thrilled with the results (and hope you are too).

A little bit about Rooftop

We're not naive, we know there are a bunch of downtown apartments in Bloomington (many brand new).  In a competitive downtown market, we knew we had to provide a product that would differentiate itself from the many others and that people would truly love.  Scholar's Rooftop is a 13-unit Mediterranean-inspired apartment building on the norther edge of downtown Bloomington, IN at the corner of E. 15th St. and N. Walnut St. (just blocks from the square and the east side of  the Indiana University campus).  Apartments are spacious, ranging from 620-710 sq. ft.; there are 4 floor plans styles to choose from.  There is one apartment on the main level, six on the 2nd level and 6 on the top level.  The distinguishing characteristic of the building has to be the 1500 sq. ft. rooftop deck and garden.  We've included an image of the rooftop deck in the gallery above, but it really doesn't do justice to the space.  In spring of 2014, we'll be adding plants to the planters and this area will really be spectacular.  There is really nothing like it in Bloomington.

What it's like inside

The apartments themselves have finishes that you would expect to see in a high-end custom home.  We chose 2 color schemes, Mediterranean-white and Tuscan-brown.  The Mediterranean style apartments have polished nickel fixtures, white doors and trim, aged white kitchen cabinets whereas the Tuscan style apartments have aged bronze fixture, stained doors & trim and stained kitchen cabinets,  Check out the gallery above to see the differences.

Common to all apartments are the beautiful galley-style kitchens with custom hardwood cabinets, stainless steel appliances,  and granite sink with pull-out kitchen faucet (Tuscan units even come with soft closing cabinets & drawers).  The living room & kitchen floors have a unique stained concrete finish.  We even are providing a large area rug as an accent in the living room.  In the bedroom you have wood floors. There is plenty of natural and in-unit lighting.  Big windows allow natural light in your living room & bedroom. We've also included many in-unit lighting options, from lighted ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room to sconce lights on the walls, to overhead lights throughout (many of which are on dimmer switches).

What else can we say about these apartments? Your bathroom is large and includes a custom vanity that looks like a piece of furniture. High efficiency front load washer & dryer is included.  Your bedroom closet is quite large, lighted and includes a customized organizational system.

Green Building Features & Utilities

The building was designed with green features including:  a sustainable roof top garden, recycled steel, high efficiency appliances & HVAC systems, and free on-site recycling.  Also included in the rent are water/sewer, trash removal & Internet. Residents will just be required to pay electric and we're confident those energy bills will be very reasonable, considering the way the building was constructed.

Parking

There is a small parking garage on-site and has parking for 6 vehicles.  There is also free street parking on 15th St. just next to the building.  Our company also owns an apartment community 2 blocks north of Scholar's Rooftop that  includes free overflow parking.  Garage parking is first come, first serve.

We're proud of the newest addition to the Renaissance Rentals portfolio and are excited for you to visit and maybe male this your next home.
